Spring Selling

By: Maura McInerney Published: May 8th, 2014

2014_YEM_AadithyaYoung Americans hosted another fun and busy Marketplace last weekend.  The sun was shining and shoppers were greeted outside by cool refreshments offered by Kallander Sno Konettes and Ahhhs 2j’s Lemonade.

2014_YEM_CharmedShoppers continued inside to scope out the other 55 youth businesses selling everything from cake pops by The Bite Sized bakery and rubber band bracelets by G Bracelets to t-shirts by Fly Guy Brand and jams and sugar body scrubs by Genesis Designs.  Some of the young entrepreneurs had their first experience at Marketplace and truly excelled with their pricing and customer service.  Some businesses even worked together to market for each other.  The ladies of Funky Flip Flops were hula-hooping to promote Al’s House of Hoops downstairs, while Ali and Lucas placed decorated flip flips next to matching hula hoops.

2014_YEM_SonnyOur veteran participants had some amazing displays and have really refined and perfected their products.  They’ve also begun to offer support and guidance to some of the new businesses.2014_YEM_Brigid

We are so proud and grateful to support all the young kids that have a business idea and the courage to try it out!  We also want to thank all the shoppers who came to support them. Be sure to stay tuned for more Marketplace opportunities, classes, and entrepreneur summer camps.
